Come down to me @ Charberry

charlie-fabrayyy:

If she could, Charlie would have just taken the brunette in her arms right there, holding her tightly until she asked her to stop. Or maybe, she would have just leaned in and kissed the girl, finally making her high school dream come true. But truth must be told, and she’d never do those things, not feeling like she was right there. Instead, Charlie just looked around for a moment and then stared back at Rachel. “Your room sounds perfect. Though you’ve got to tell your dads I sent them a hi. Don’t want them to think I’m a… impolite friend.” Charlie had to try her best not to slip a daugher-in-law out right there, so she just opened a wide grin.

She was actually still smiling by the time they started heading upstairs, and it was only then when Charlie realized she didn’t have anything to say. Actually, sure she had a lot of things to tell Rachel, but she didn’t think about exactly anything to say right there. So the blonde use their short time from the living room towards her bedroom to think about at least a sentence or something that would definitely melt Rachel’s heart… but nothing. The door was opening and time’s up, time to talk.

Watching the door close behind her, Charlie avoided her friend’s eyes before sitting on her bed. She smoothed her shirt and looked around -at anything but Rachel, until there was nothing left to stare. Her gaze found the brunette’s right away, and Charlie gulped loudly as her brain failed her. Big time.

It was actually quite adorable how Charlotte seemed to be really nervous in that moment, because that wasn’t really her, Charlie never gets nervous. But it was quite, and it kind of made really feel a little bit anxious too, although she didn’t let it show. For once, Rachel was at a loss of knowing what to do or say. Her old (and failed) relationships didn’t exactly require a lot of talking, it was like a mutual knowing that they both liked each other and that they were together. But with Charlie it felt different. They had been best friends for a long time, and wherever this would take them it was going to completely change the course of their relationship. It could be really good, or really bad, and Rachel did not want to ruin that. Their friendship was the most important thing for her.

Once they were both sitting on her bed, Rachel’s eyes were locked on Charlie, who seemed to be avoiding her at all costs, but for some reason it made Rachel smile. Because yes, nervous Charlie was really adorable. Rachel almost wanted to grab her hand and give her light squeeze, reassuring her that it was okay, but instead she just patted her shoulder and left her hand rest there for a moment. “Hey, it’s okay. We don’t have to talk about it right now if you’re nervous or don’t feel comfortable, okay? I am just curious and…kind of confused, but I can wait.” she said with a soft smile on her face. “We can do whatever you want, watch a movie or listen to some music. Just…talk to me. It’s actually quite weird when you’re quiet.” she joked, nudging her shoulder lightly.

Come down to me @ Charberry

charlie-fabrayyy:

This time, everything felt different. Charlie was almost sure she was dreaming somehow, and as soon as she walked out the door, she’d wake up with a silly smile on her face. It was just too good to be true. She might be half scared about whatever they’d be talking about that afternoon, but the other half -the happy one- was definitely stronger this time. She’d be usually really excited to go to her best friend’s house and spend some time together, but this time, she’d have flown over there if it was possible. Charlie looked at herself in the mirror, and she didn’t bother changing her clothes or brushing her hair, she just smiled and ran out of the room. Going downstairs two steps at a time, the blonde looked around and, luckily, there was no sign on her older sister, Quinn. She didn’t even want to think about what would happen once the girl found out about her feelings for the brunette, so shook her head to keep those thoughts away and headed to Rachel’s house.

It was only on the ride over there, that the overflowing happiness started to turn into nervousism and Charlie began wondering the many possibilites of that going terribly wrong. And what if Rachel was right, and her confession ruined everything? They’d never be best friends again? And what if Quinn noticed everything and hated them both forever? Worst, what if she goes after the brunette as well? People at school wouldn’t be okay with them dating… would Rachel be even more bullied? Would she have to handle slushies herself? And what if… her thoughts were again interrupted by the sight of the Berry’s house in front of her, and Charlie took a long breath. That was it, time to make the girl hers. Kind of.

Stepping outside the car, Charlie was so confused she was pratically neutral about the whole situation. Her mind was settled into just being honest and hoping for the best, but as always, everything changed as soon as the brunette opened the door. Their eyes met and that whole situation disappeared. Opening her mouth awkwardly, her speechless face quickly turned into a smile. Rachel Berry liked her. “Hey, Rach.”

Rachel, being the kind of girl she is, always liked to be in control of every situation in her life. But in moments like those ones, when she didn’t exactly know what to do, she panicked. Charlotte was supposed to come over any minute and all she could do was simply stay still in her spot on the couch looking at, well, nowhere in particular. Should she get ready, change her clothes and make herself look pretty? No, there was really no need for that, right? Tights and an oversized sweater was perfectly fine. Besides, Charlie already knew what her wardrobe consisted of, and she never exactly complained. Charlie liked her just the way she was. She actually liked her. Only the thought made Rachel grin like a toddler and suddenly she was feeling really giddy. The realization that she had more than friendly feelings towards her best friend just kind of hit her out of the blue, and it was probably going to take her a while to get used to it, but it was going to be okay, so far she didn’t have anything to worry about; Charlie would come over, they would talk, and decided where they were taking that.

The knock on the door startled her, and Rachel had to hurry her dads to their room because she knew they were going to be curious since they already asked why she was being so mysterious and happy — which she of course, avoided the question. She opened the door with a smile on her face and a “Hey”, motioning for Charlie to follow her inside and to the living room, but she stopped halfway, turning around to look up at her best friend. “Would you prefer to talk here or my room? My dads might pop up if we’re here, they already knew you were coming over…” she explained with a little shrug, waiting for the girl’s answer.

Charlie: You like me too? Well, I... don't even know what to say. You know I'm always here for you, no matter what happens, right? And, whatever this turns to, would never change the fact that you're my best friend.
Rachel: I just said that, didn't I? :) Can you...can you come over? I would really rather talk about this in person.

Charlie: It's just... I like you, Rach. I've always liked you. And I thought the best way to tell you would be through song.
Rachel: Always...? Why? Why didn't you say anything? I—...it was cute. And the fact that you sang a song for me and none of my ex boyfriends did should clearly say something. Mostly that I don't have the best record in successful relationships, but that's not the point. I like you too, Charlotte. At least I think I do. No, yes, I know I do. It's just...I've never liked girls before, well, not girls in plural, just...a girl. And...you're my best friend. Isn't this going to ruin things? And no, this isn't just me being dramatic, I am really curious/concerned/worried and any other fitting word.

Charlie: Don't worry, you weren't rude. And well, I... had heard it was easier to sing things instead of just saying them, and decided to give it a shot.
Rachel: Why can't you just say it...?

Rachel: I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. I think the lack of sleep is getting to me. But I do want to know something, though. The song you performed today...why did you pick that particular song?
